The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has finalized rules to implement a legally segregated, operationally commingled clearing model in the cleared swaps market. Several Commissioners said the implementation should be viewed as a first step towards remedying the mistakes tied to the bankruptcy of MF Global and the subsequent search for the firm’s customer collateral.
